I am absolutely furious with the US Post Office! Mark a package Fragile, send it Priority Mail, it doesn't matter. They will drop kick it from place to place!

The insulator's from Maggie arrived today. We knew when we saw that box that something would be broken. Two insulators completely destroyed! Both on corners. Little slivers of glass in packing so caution was the word when unwrapping. What the heck does one have to do with the post office, pack everything in cotton? Doesn't matter if you use their box or not. And to think I was told no human hands touch boxes, machines do. Bull!

So now I will work at making the remaining ones sparkle. I hope Wil has enough Polident. Thank you Maggie and John for all your time.

Little Buddy is doing well in his new cage. He chirps nicely as well as 'screeches'. This morning he even whistled. Now to get him used to hands if possible. That will be in a few days though I think. Not ready to be bit right now. He will eat some people food and tonight I will try potatoes that Buster and Pookie like. I didn't get the crock pot on in time for lunch.

Time to go scrub insulators and just might wash up a few dishes while out there.

I am so sorry Bonnie and mad like you--thats why I marked it fragile !!! John said for me to call the post office Monday and complain. Funny thing is we were told thats why they started using those flat rate boxes---they were trying to get people to use the post office again--well they better thing of something else !

If you call them they will ask if you insured it. Had you insured it you would have to get someone to verify the value to file a claim. Remember my china cup of Great Grandma's? They got us coming and going!

They are tricksy at the Post Office, it sounds like!  I have to say that Fed Ex and others cannot be much better, from the state of some of my merchandise boxes.

I have a real horror story about the post office....a year ago this past Christmas I decided to have pictures of myself as a baby...with my parents and the dog I grew up with...professionally framed for each of the girls. The results were gorgeous and I couldnt wait for the girls to see them!!! We had to mail the one to our daughter in Florida. I decided to really pad it well by wrapping it in a handmade afghan that my Mother had made a few years before she passed away. Unfortunately...my husband didn't insure it when he mailed it. Shawna wasn't at home when the mailman came by...so the idiot mailman put it inside a storage type seat that was outside in the hall of the apartment. Unfortunately...that seat ...and the hundreds other like it in the complex are for the people who live there to put their TRASH in to be picked up on a daily basis by the groundskeepers!!! Shawna was out of town and didnt get home for 2 days...by that time the package was compacted in the trash compactor!!!! To say I was upset would be a very huge understatement!!!!
Oh well..you live and learn I guess

I guess I shall not cringe about my broken china cup. Why those containers aren't marked trash only is a question I would be asking.

Oooh..love that header!  We have had a LOT of similar experiences with the USPS......the more postage goes up, the sorrier the service gets is what my boss likes to say.
