  • Sad day filled with tears

I thought I was prepared, but you really can't prepare and I knew that. Carissa's Sparkle had cancer behind her eye. I did not pay the $980 for a biopsy and wait 5 to 7 days. They knew what they were looking at. They offered to load her up with pain medicine and bring her back so I could say goodbye. I couldn't do that. She will be cremated and her ashes returned to me for burial. 20210525

  • Mary I just had to smile at your family discussion. Perhaps I just care to believe Carissa knows what happened some how. :-) Afraid if all our pets went with us there would be little room for us. :-)

  • Bonnie, I'm sorry to hear of the cancer and loss of Sparkle as I'm sure she was much loved by both Clarissa and you. I know how hard it is to lose a pet but I guess we believe it is worth the pain of loss as they bring us so much joy.

  • Bonnie, I sent my sister, Vicki, an email. She's read the bible most her adult life, what does the Bible say happens to our beloved pets? Do they go to heaven? My brother a cat lover got in on the discussion. It became lengthy and involved. The answer is animals are put on earth to serve and make us happy. It's kinda of shallow and I think heaven might not be as fun without animals and flowers and trees, and other living organisms. However, it's better than the alternative. Sounds like your Grandmother was right on. I think I would have enjoyed knowing her. By now, you must think I'm bonkers or have nothing better to do than think about life and afterlife. But I'm at that age I suppose. It sounds like Sparkle had an excellent life and will be missed. What more could any of us ask? Hope you're on the mend.

  • Sorry Sparkle has left you Bonnie - Carissa would have wanted her to be loved by you her last few months.

  • Mary she got her in 2006 from the humane society. We only had her 7 months. Others have suggested she is now with Carissa. My Grandma would of said no as animals have no soul.

  • She's a pretty little cat. Someone told me black cats are part Siamese. How old was she? I don't know how you feel about the hereafter, but maybe Carrisa and Sparkle have been reunited. It's a comforting thought. Pets give us so much joy, and Sparkle was blessed when you provided a home.

  • I guess what you feel, Bonnie.
Sparkle was carrying precious memories .
I am sorry for you .
    Love
    Michel
