  • A Wednesday that feels like Monday

I seem to get worse as I age knowing what doggone day it is.  Yeah my pill boxes tell me the day, as does the calendar but holiday's play games with my brain.

This morning I walked out back to feed birds and first thing I see is a big green bag on the other  side of the feclothesnce. Didn't smell like a dead dog. No foot or hand sticking out. So I went in and got the long clothes pole and gently opened it.

(now I'm trying to place the image where I want it. will it be there when I finish?)

Some kid running away?  A homeless person?

It is a long way to walk around to the easement and down to this end of it. I still had on my duster and gown as I hadn't even had breakfast yet.  Yes the birds get fed and the flag raised before I do that.

Not knowing what to do I called a non emergency number for Police Dept.  Before I even got my teeth brushed, in the progress of it, someone was at the door. :-)   He figured it was a homeless person and if he took it he would have to throw away someone's property that was rolled really neatly.  He suggested wait a day and we could either trash it or take it to Good Will.  The officer didn't realized I would feel obligated to launder it before taking it to Good Will. :-)   Which of course I didn't want to do.

He also advised if removing it we may find someone at our door asking if we had seen it.  That I didn't want. I told him I'd leave it and see if someone came back.

Shortly thereafter the man mowing the easement from the church arrived and I told him what the policeman and I had discussed.  He said if it wasn't gone in a day he'd be glad to come throw it in their dumpster.

Not long after I looked out it was gone.  I am going to talk to the neighbor's about trimming their fence area there so we do not make a spot that is open to loitering.  If they won't do it I'll have our yard man Tony do it.  They once told Tony that would keep people from jumping the fence and we both laughed as a foot down they can if they didn't want to go through the gate at the end.

Next it was off to the Credit Union then I told Wil how to get to Target.  We get home for lunch before going to the feed store and we kept looking at the receipt trying to figure out what the $14 charge at the beginning was.  Finally it hit me, batteries! Expensive things I thought, but heck there are 20 in the package.

I went with Wil to the feed store as I wasn't sure after repeating so many things this morning if he remembered the way.  He did.  I realized when I got home the reason I had difficulty reading in the store, I had my computer glasses on. Sigh.....You can order me that "groaning old" t shirt any day now. lol

  • @murisopsis: I could not have rested if they were in a dumpster. I was surprised a church person had little compassion for the homeless.

  • At least they were retrieved. The officer was right that someone would be back for them - much better than throwing them in a dumpster!

  • Ava with my back I can't stay in bed. If I need to rest the recliner is in use. :-)

  • @fauquet: I would suspect a laundromat may have been used. They were neatly rolled and stacked. My prayers go to this man.

Michel I'm just glad I was not driving! Since I had prescription sunglasses I guess that wouldn't have mattered.

  • Always adventure happens . This put a bit of salt in life , is it not true, Bonnie ?
By the way the clothes lookes clean . Weird .
Next time do not forget to put the good glasses for the errands ! :)
    Love
    Michel

  • You do so much more than I do, Bonnie. I guess I am a big sissy to let my pains get the best of me. Some days I spend most of my time in bed. I am older than my years. I am groaning old gratefully but certainly not gracefully. It's a good thing I can laugh at myself.
